The idea of Rustic Collections was born while on a much needed holiday to Margaret River where we visited a winery and purchased a fruit bowl made from a disused wine barrel. With our passion for buying unique handmade items, the fruit bowl was a perfect fit for our home decor.

While researching where we could buy more wine barrel products from, we found that there was only a couple of businesses selling these unique products. It wasn’t long before we purchased a half barrel dog bed for the newest addition to our family, Walter a 12 week old Jack Russell.

This led us into looking at where we could buy a wine barrel from and what could be built out of a wine barrel. We were surprised to learn that if the wineries could not sell their disused wine barrels, the barrel hoops were sold as scrap metal & the barrels used as fire wood.

We saw this as an opportunity to do our bit for the environment by saving disused wine barrels from being destroyed and repurpose the barrels into unique new products.

After working on our business idea for about 18 months, Rustic Collections was founded in 2023 by co owners Robert & Bronwyn (pictured below).
